Even Ninja was tweeting about how\n188|many bugs there are in the game. It was\n189|absurd. But once those bugs were fixed,\n190|we had a really, really good time. And\n191|something that persisted for the entire\n192|chapter of chapter 4 was the midmatch\n193|objectives, which we don't really have\n194|much these days. But mid-map objectives\n195|came in and really spiced up the battle\n196|royale genre because the midame is where\n197|the match feels a little bit flat. You\n198|hot drop and you fight some players off\n199|spawn. You gather some loot, but then\n200|you run around looking for other\n201|players, and there's not really a sense\n202|of direction besides the storm circle,\n203|which is taking its sweet time. But back\n204|in chapter 4, we had some very\n205|interesting Midgame objectives. Every\n206|major POI had a capture point where if\n207|you held it down and captured it, you\n208|would scan the area as well as get a\n209|good amount of loot. It made hot\n210|dropping even more intense because\n211|people could go for the capture point\n212|early on to have that early advantage\n213|against the other teams at that POI and\n214|there was always a fight that broke out\n215|around the flag. On top of that, Epic\n216|added rift encounters. These were small\n217|parts of different realities rifting\n218|onto the chapter 4 map randomly. Some of\n219|them just gave you some extra loot or\n220|NPCs to look at, but some of them were\n221|very powerful, like a rock with three\n222|llamas, a portaotti with a bunch of\n223|slurp barrels, an NPC that stood around\n224|three chests. Sometimes it was a vehicle\n225|or a launchpad spawn, or just some NPCs\n226|dancing, but it kind of kept every\n227|single match a little bit interesting\n228|and exciting. And some of them felt like\n229|they were more rare to run into, like\n230|the llamas, which gave you a huge boost\n231|to your game. There were also hollow\n232|chests around the map and you could find\n233|the hollow keys to open these chests for\n234|some purple and gold weapons. So, this\n235|season was overall a huge success once\n236|they fixed the bugs. We had OG content\n237|creators like Tfue and Scissors\n238|returning to the game and making content\n239|and streaming. This was definitely the\n240|second or third best season of this\n241|chapter. It could have been first\n242|overall if it wasn't very buggy, and you\n243|really can't ignore the bugs when\n244|ranking this season. Let's jump into\n245|season number two of chapter 4. Because\n246|if you thought Fortnite started strong\n247|with season 1 and they weren't going to\n248|carry that momentum, you're wrong.\n249|Because season 2 gave us Mega City, the\n250|biggest POI we have ever seen to rival\n251|Tilted Towers. We have a brand new\n252|Japanese themed biome with three new\n253|POIs: Mega City, Steamy Springs,\n254|Kenjutsu Crossing, and Naughty Nets. For\n255|mobility, they followed up the kinetic\n256|hammer with the kinetic blade, and it\n257|lives up to the hype. Rogue bikes were\n258|also added and found near Mega City.\n259|They were similar to dirt bikes, but\n260|they were better for paved roads. We\n261|also got the Nitro Drifter car, which\n262|was coded for drifting and using the new\n263|racetrack north of Mega. And then, of\n264|course, the Attack on Titan update with\n265|ODM Gear. This was a huge collaboration\n266|that completely changed the game. As an\n267|Attack on Titan fan, they did such a\n268|great job with this collab. And then for\n269|the Midame, Fortnite added an island\n270|that would spawn randomly around the\n271|map, and there was a capture point that\n272|would grant you unique mythics\n273|throughout the rest of the chapter. When\n274|it first got added, it gave you the\n275|overclocked pulse rifle, probably the\n276|most overpowered and fun assault rifle\n277|in Fortnite history. Legendary slurps\n278|were also added which healed you 200\n279|health fully and these were insanely\n280|overpowered. You also had combat caches\n281|that would spawn in the third zone and a\n282|combat cash had a 100% chance of giving\n283|you a legendary slurp. And it actually\n284|got marked on the map for you and one\n285|other player. So these two players would\n286|encounter each other and have to fight\n287|for the combat cash. Every 35 seconds\n288|that the combat cash was not open, the\n289|rarity of the cash would drop down from\n290|legendary all the way down to rare,\n291|forcing you to end the fight quicker and\n292|get to there before it loses its rarity.\n293|Augments of course stuck around during\n294|this season. They removed most of them\n295|and then they added seven new ones. And\n296|I will say augments kind of got\n297|deteriorated throughout the chapter.\n298|They started off very strong and they\n299|were very game-changing, but eventually\n300|they just became kind of a chore to use.\n301|So, I'm not sure why Epic kind of\n302|misplayed the augments there, but it was\n303|still pretty interesting in season 2. In\n304|season 2, we also got the removal of\n305|arena, and there was a new rank system\n306|with seven new divisions. The\n307|traditional bronze to Unreal that we\n308|have today got introduced during this\n309|chapter. Now, there weren't as many bugs\n310|in season 2. There were some, but Epic\n311|was quick to fix them, including this\n312|very crazy bug that people figured out\n313|where they could disconnect their Wi-Fi\n314|and then eliminate players with the\n315|kinetic blade, and then when they\n316|reconnect their Wi-Fi, all the damage\n317|would spawn on them at once, and they\n318|wouldn't even know what hit them. Now,\n319|we talk about season 3. This is\n320|definitely the weakest season of chapter\n321|4. Okay, without a doubt, it is the\n322|weakest season. However, it gave us some\n323|iconic moments like the Nick A30, you\n324|think you're the king meme. Nick AK30\n325|was really leaning into the roleplay and\n326|hunter player customs during this\n327|season. Even I started recreating this\n328|meme because of how much it blew up. You\n329|think you're the king? I'm the king. You\n330|in what army?\n331|Oh crap.\n332|Speaking of blowing up, we also had one\n333|of the biggest Fortnite UEFN maps ever,\n334|which launched during the season. only\n335|up, a recreation of the Steam Only Up,\n336|but in the Fortnite world, and this was\n337|played by millions and millions of\n338|players. It is a mass 7.2 billion\n339|minutes of play time, and it is still\n340|one of the top 30 played non-Epic maps\n341|to this day. This kind of took over\n342|during the summer because Battle Royale\n343|was in a slump with a weaker season.\n344|There was millions of views generated\n345|from this map of people trying to break\n346|the world record and people like myself\n347|reacting to the world record being\n348|broken. And honestly, it's been a few\n349|years since I've played an only up map\n350|in Fortnite, but believe it or not,\n351|these are still going strong to this\n352|day. People love parkour maps, and there\n353|was one recently made in collaboration\n354|with American Express and Wimbledon.\n355|It's called Wimbledon Up, and I actually\n356|played this map on stream recently, and\n357|it was giving me flashbacks to chapter\n358|4. It is not an easy map to complete.\n359|When you first load into Wimbledon Up,\n360|you're going to see this opening\n361|cutscene, which actually goes kind of\n362|hard and it kind of sets the stage as to\n363|how the map is designed. Then you jump\n364|on top of this tennis ball to launch up\n365|into the air and begin your run. The map\n366|is separated by rounds with a\n367|leaderboard so you can check in on your\n368|pace or even race your friends. And\n369|you'll earn prestige points just by\n370|playing, and you can use those to\n371|upgrade your character. There are plenty\n372|of perks like a faster sprint speed,\n373|increased luck, and more. My personal\n374|record is 876\n375|m high, and I want to see if you guys\n376|can actually beat that. But what's worse than\n399|that is every season we had a new\n400|kinetic weapon. Season 1, the kinetic\n401|hammer. It was goated. Season two, the\n402|kinetic blade, also goated. Season 3,\n403|the kinetic boomerang. Oh my god, it was\n404|bad. I might have gotten one or two\n405|eliminations with this thing the entire\n406|season. No one was using it. They also\n407|added the Cybertron cannon, which was\n408|just a meme gun and was also rarely\n409|used. And there was these wild wasp jars\n410|which were annoying to fight against but\n411|you never really killed anyone with\n412|them. The drum shotgun was back and it\n413|was super spammy so the meta was kind of\n414|shaky. However, thankfully Epic added\n415|one item this season that kind of saved\n416|the season. The mammoth pistol. One of\n417|the most favorite weapons added to the\n418|game came in during a low point in\n419|chapter 4. Fortnite brought back bounty\n420|boards as a fun mid-match gameplay loop.\n421|And for mobility, there were these\n422|raptors that you could ride around the\n423|map, but they were also very aggressive\n424|and not that great. They did add mud\n425|sliding, and there was a fun glitch\n426|discovered where you could slide way\n427|faster than intended, but they\n428|eventually fixed that as well. This\n429|season was a little flat. The jungle\n430|biome didn't hit. The loot pool was a\n431|little mid, but we did get the mammoth\n432|pistol. And while it is the weakest\n433|season of the chapter, it still holds\n434|strong compared to some of the seasons\n435|we've had after. But Fortnite knew they\n436|knew they had to lock in with season 4\n437|of chapter 4. And we can see in the\n438|player count that this was the highest\n439|played season of the chapter. They introduced Sanguine\n445|Sweets, Relentless Retreat, and Eclipse\n446|estates. three baller POIs that people\n447|love to land at, fight the boss, and\n448|open the vault.
